I have not read this book. I only know Emperor Constantine adopted many pagan rituals into the church when he declared Christianity the State religion of Rome around 312 ad, in order to appease the people , being the politician he was. The Bible states in the book of Jerimiah , Chapter 10 , vs 2-4: [ 2. Thus saith the Lord , Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3. For the customs of the people are vain : for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with an ax, 4. They deck it with silver and with gold: they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. ] To me, this says we should not , as Christians do these things. I'm just a layman, but it says what it says.
